ROBIN WRONG ABOUT "VIBE" RACISM!
Robin Thicke complained recently that VIBE magazine had refused to put him on the cover because he's white. Thicke claimed that Eminem is the only white artist who’s been on VIBE’s cover. Well, that’s incorrect. Justin Timberlake was on the front of VIBE when he was promoting his debut solo album, Justified. Right now, Robert DeNiro is currently on the cover of VIBE’s "Hollywood Issue" along with 50 Cent (they appear together, along with Al Pacino, in the upcoming cop drama Righteous Kill).
AKON FACING TRIAL OVER FAN-TOSSING!
Remember last summer (June 2007) when Akon threw that 15-year-old kid off the stage during an outdoor concert in upstate New York? Well, it’s time for the soulful singer to pay dues for that incident. Akon was ordered yesterday to stand trial on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment. He could get a year in prison if he’s found guilty on both charges.
The trial is set to begin on December 1st in Fishkill, NY. But the District Attorney offered Akon’s legal team a deal to settle the case within the next two weeks, thereby avoiding a trial. Akon’s lawyers issued this statement after yesterday’s hearing: "We are pleased that Judge Epstein adjourned the case to a date certain for either a trial or a negotiated resolution. Akon looks forward to putting this incident behind him, and in the meantime, he will continue to meet every requirement set forth by the court."
